1. Do sunroofs offer optimum material quality?
You can always rely on Webasto quality. Webasto is a successful systems manufacturer supplying sunroofs for virtually every type of car. Webasto produces 5 million units a year, so more than 50% of sunroofs factory installed by carmakers round the world are from Webasto. That's the quality that the world’s biggest automobile manufacturers demand, and that's what you get when you buy from us – plus: 3 years warranty.
2. What about installation quality and quality of fit?
You have Webasto’s product quality, and you’re also buying high-grade, dependable installation technology. Only qualified partners such as ourselves fit these Hollandia sunroofs, and our fitters are fully trained and certified.
3. Which cars can be fitted with sunroofs?
A sunroof can be installed into virtually any car – older models included.
4. Will a sunroof reduce the value of my car?
No, the value of the car will not decrease. High quality sunroofs are becoming more and more popular, so you’ll find that a car fitted with one of these sunroofs will be more appealing to potential buyers.
5. Sunroofs often develop leaks.
No, that’s an old prejudice and it can usually be accounted for by poor quality fitting and no-name units. Brand-name, Hollandia, sunroofs from Webasto always offers top quality and what's more, they are only installed by certified partners.
6. My car is air conditioned, so is there any point in fitting a sunroof?
Yes there is, because the sunroof and air conditioning offer two completely different sets of advantages. The air-conditioning system keeps the temperature inside the car down. The roof will ensure an ample supply of fresh air to make driving more comfortable, and you'll have natural light inside the passenger compartment 365 days a year.
7. Will a sunroof affect the way I drive?
Yes it will, and the effect is positive. More light, better mixing of the incoming air and improved temperature distribution will make everyone in the car feel better, in fact all these factors add up to a regenerating effect. Above and beyond the positive effect on the driver’s reaction, sunroofs contribute to greater safety on the road.
8. A sunroof leaves the inside of the car exposed to direct sunlight and the heat of the sun’s rays.
No. All Hollandia glass sunroofs are equipped with Venus® glass that protects against heat and ultraviolet light. This safety glass is specially tinted throughout to reflect 80% of visible light, 99% of ultraviolet radiation and 97% of heat from the sun. That means plenty of light inside the car, but only as much heat as is needed for the occupants to feel cosy and comfortable.
9. What about the safety of my car when the sunroof is installed?
Independent tests have proven that installing a Webasto Sunroof has no detrimental effect on the car’s stability or on its ability to resist collision impacts.
10. A sunroof is draughty.
Another prejudice; there’s an integrated wind deflector to minimize draughts even at high speeds. And in fact: draughts are much less of a problem than when you drive with the side windows open.
11. A sunroof is noisy.
These modern, aerodynamically optimized roof-systems significantly reduce the noise level inside the passenger compartment. Wind noise with the sunroof open or tilted is negligible by comparison with the noise level you experience with the side windows rolled down.
12. There are only certain times of the year when I can experience any benefit from a sunroof.
A sunroof made of glass will always make the interior of the car seem brighter and more spacious and you’ll be able to enjoy that panoramic feeling at any time of theyear. You have a lot of positioning options with a sunroof, so in fact you can make use of it all year round.
13. Can I install a sunroof in my car if it is equipped with side and curtain air bags?
Of course. Tests have been carried out by an independent test center: there is no effect on the operation of airbags when a new Hollandia sunroof is installed.
14. I've got plenty of air coming in through the side windows.
You've also got to put up with draughts and more noise. When you open a window you disturb the flow of air round the car, and that means higher fuel consumption.
15. Will I have less headroom with a sunroof?
Modern Webasto sunroofs are designed to take up no more than minimum space. In fact: the glass roof makes the passenger compartment seem more spacious all year round – even when the panel is closed. The interior is brighter, so you have a greater sense of space.
16. A sunroof is too expensive.
A sunroof doesn’t just mean fresh air and light; it is also a low-cost way of experiencing that feeling of driving an open-top car. The cost-performance ratio is ideal: virtually no other aftermarket accessory can claim that. The sunroof is a technologically high-grade convenience facility that can be used precisely in accordance with individual wishes and preferences.
17. Does the roof stiffener have to be removed when installing a sunroof?
This depends on the type of car – so Webasto offers two possibilities: the Hollandia 300 DeLuxe Medium can, in most cases, be installed in front of the roof stiffener. For many other sunroofs – except Hollandia 400 – Webasto especially developed a roof stiffener replacement system so Hollandia sunroofs can be installed in virtually any type of car. The RSR is TÜV-approved.
